10-1-05  Meet information for all of our Fall meets is now posted under competition, upcoming meets.  A new meet to be held at the new University of Louisville Natatorium is schedule for November 5-6.

9-2-05  Practice will finish at Lakeside on Monday with an 8:00am holiday practice.  We will start practice at St Xavier High School on Tuesday, 9-6 and at MTM on Sunday, 9-11

7-10-05  Thirty Lakeside Masters competed in the Long Course Mini Meet this past Sunday.  All found out where they are in there training and where to work to improve.  All of the Relays swum should make the top ten for 2005, based on 2004 times.  Results can be found at under the Competition tab, click on the Kentucky Masters Swimming link.

6-26-05  At the request of Robbie Allen, Lakeside Masters held the 5 K National Postal swim Sunday Morning.  Ten swimmers braved the event with Jerrod Kappler knocking two and a half minutes off the National Record, Robbie Allen posting a faster than last years time and Marty Bearden finishing among the top ten from last year.  Final results will not be published until October.

6-19-05 Lakeside Masters won the Visiting team division of the SwimLouisville.com Invitational meet this weekend.  Our first Long Course meet prove to be informative and helpful in finding out where we are in our training for this season.  Congratulations to all of the participants.   Results can be found at under the Competition tab, click on the Kentucky Masters Swimming link.

6-18-05 The National Senior Games were held in Pittsburgh this year.  Lakeside Masters had three participants.   Wendy Medley went to the awards stand five of her six events, Bill Tingley won one event, placed second in two events and finished third in two events.  Dorothy Riordan continues to dominate her age group, winning gold in two events and silver in one.   The National Senior Games will be held in Louisville in 2007.  Swimmers have to qualify at their State Games, in the events they wish to swim in the National Senior Games.  Kentucky 2006 Games are scheduled for September 2006.  All swimmers that will be 50 or older should keep these dates open to qualify in 2006.  Results of this years Senior Games are at http://www.teampittsburgh.com/Senior2005/index.htm

5-31-05  This years team picture will be taken at our Summer Season Kickoff Picnic at 11:00am on Sunday, June 5th.   Lakeside Masters and their families are invited to enjoy brats and hot dogs after the picture.  More info at Practice.

5-22-05 This years SC Nationals, in Ft Lauderdale, had some great efforts. Jennifer Kappler won the 1650, and had four thirds for the meet, Jerrod Kappler had four seconds and two thirds, Tito Salano finished with two silvers, two bronze and a fifth, while Bill Tingley could only muster a 10th in the 4 IM. 4-10-05 With this years Wildcat Invite scheduled during Spring Break, participation was at an all time low.  Wildcat had the lowest participation levels since the meet began.  They promise to move the meet off either Spring Break weekend in 2006.  Lakeside have five swimmers participate and all did well although everyone thought that they could do better with more of the team around them and more fire in practice leading up to the meet. 3-13-05 The SCY Mini Meet was held this morning and we did well considering that we have not hand much competitive practice this season.  Five of our seven relays that Lakeside Masters have participated in better Top Ten times from last year.
